MSC Meraviglia Is Returning to Miami: What to Expect From Its Florida Sailings

MSC Meraviglia is heading back to Florida this fall, beginning a new season of Caribbean cruises from Miami on November 11, 2026.

The ship has spent recent years sailing primarily from New York, but after a summer in Europe and a transatlantic repositioning, Meraviglia will once again call Miami home for the winter. MSC has confirmed that the ship will offer new 6- and 8-night Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries as part of a record four-ship MSC lineup sailing from Miami.

I’ll actually be onboard Meraviglia’s first roundtrip Miami sailing on November 11, so we will get a firsthand look at how the ship feels as it settles into its new Florida schedule.

The First Sailing Will Be a Short Bahamas Cruise

Meraviglia’s first roundtrip cruise from Miami departs November 11 for four nights, visiting Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Freeport before returning to Miami on November 15.

After that introductory sailing, the ship shifts into its main winter schedule of 6- and 8-night cruises.

Six-night itineraries can include Grand Turk, Ocean Cay, Nassau and Puerto Plata, while the longer 8-night cruises expand farther into the Caribbean with destinations such as St. Maarten, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Antigua, San Juan and the Dominican Republic. Exact ports vary by sailing.

Meraviglia Gives Miami a Different Kind of MSC Ship

Meraviglia sits in an interesting spot in MSC’s current Florida lineup.

It is smaller and a little more traditional than MSC World America, but still very much a large modern resort ship. The centerpiece is the Galleria Meraviglia, the indoor promenade running through the middle of the ship beneath a huge LED ceiling.

The ship also has multiple pools, an indoor pool (my favorite!) with a retractable roof, a large waterpark, bowling, specialty dining, plenty of bars and lounges and an MSC Yacht Club.

That indoor pool may actually be one of Meraviglia’s underrated advantages. It was especially useful during the ship’s colder-weather New York cruises, but even in Florida it provides another climate-controlled pool area during rainy days or when the main decks are crowded.

The Itineraries Are One of the Most Interesting Changes

I think Meraviglia’s itinerary lengths may be one of its biggest selling points in Miami.

MSC World America largely focuses on traditional seven-night cruises, while MSC Seaside handles many of the shorter three- and four-night trips.

Meraviglia’s 6- and 8-night schedule sits right between them and allows MSC to offer some less typical Caribbean combinations from Miami. MSC specifically says the ship will visit an expanded selection of destinations during the 2026-2027 winter season.

Several sailings can also be combined into longer cruises for guests who want more than a week onboard.

What I’ll Be Watching on the First Sailing

There are a few things I am especially curious to see when Meraviglia begins sailing from Miami.

• How the ship handles a warm-weather Florida crowd
• Whether entertainment or dining changes for the U.S. market
• How busy the outdoor decks feel
• What the current food and bar menus look like
• The condition of the ship after its European season and transatlantic crossing
• How Meraviglia’s Yacht Club compares with MSC’s newer ships
• Whether the onboard experience feels noticeably different from its New York era

None of those changes are guaranteed. Meraviglia is not becoming a different ship just because it is moving to Miami.

But a new homeport, different itineraries and a more Caribbean-focused season could give the ship a noticeably different atmosphere.
