MSC World Atlantic Reveals Coral Cove Pool and New Water Attractions
MSC Cruises has revealed more of what passengers can expect from the pool decks aboard MSC World Atlantic, including an all-new indoor pool area called Coral Cove Pool & Bar.
The new World Class ship will have seven pools and 13 whirlpools in total, with spaces designed for families, thrill seekers and adults looking for somewhere quieter to relax. MSC World Atlantic is scheduled to begin sailing from Port Canaveral in November 2027.
The latest reveal focuses on four main areas: Coral Cove Pool & Bar, the Aquapark, a family splashpad and the adults-only Zen Pool.
What Is Coral Cove Pool & Bar?
Coral Cove will be an indoor pool retreat featuring a swimming pool, bar, table games, music and additional activities.
Based on the first renderings, the space will have a large glass ceiling that allows plenty of natural light into the pool area. Seating and loungers surround the pool, while the bar and other activities should make Coral Cove feel more like a social gathering place than a traditional indoor swimming pool.
I think this could become one of the more useful spaces on the ship. Having an indoor pool gives passengers somewhere to swim when the weather is rainy, windy or simply too hot outside. It also provides another option when the ship’s main outdoor pools are busy.
MSC describes Coral Cove as an all-new venue for World Atlantic, giving the ship at least one pool space that will help separate it from MSC World America and the other World Class ships.
Three Waterslides at the Aquapark
For guests looking for something more exciting, MSC World Atlantic’s Aquapark will have three waterslides.
The main attraction will be a 90-degree drop slide that begins with riders standing inside a capsule before the floor drops away beneath them. The waterpark will also include additional twisting slides, splash areas and interactive water features.
MSC has already confirmed that the ship’s family areas will include several major attractions beyond the waterpark. These include Cliffhanger, the overwater swing ride that extends beyond the side of the ship, and the High Trail Ropes Course.
With the waterslides, ropes course and Cliffhanger all available in the same general family district, MSC World Atlantic is clearly being designed with active families in mind.
A Separate Splashpad for Younger Children
Younger children will have their own splashpad with water sprays and smaller kiddie slides.
Separating the splashpad from the larger waterslides should give families with younger children an easier place to play without being surrounded by guests waiting for the bigger attractions.
It also adds another dedicated family space to a ship that will feature one of MSC’s largest Doremiland children’s clubs, with programming for guests from infancy through age 17.
The Adults-Only Zen Pool Returns
MSC World Atlantic will also have an adults-only Zen Pool for passengers looking to escape the louder family areas.
The Zen Area is positioned as the ship’s laid-back outdoor retreat, with pools, ocean views and a quieter atmosphere. The first rendering shows the pool located toward the back of the ship, with open views across the wake.
I like that MSC is keeping these experiences separated. Families still receive a large Aquapark and splashpad, while adults have a designated pool area where they can relax away from the busiest parts of the ship.
MSC World Atlantic Is Being Designed for Port Canaveral
MSC World Atlantic will become the fourth ship in MSC Cruises’ World Class and the first from the class to sail from Port Canaveral.
The ship is scheduled to begin service on November 13, 2027, with alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Planned destinations include Grand Turk, Puerto Plata, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Nassau and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
Other attractions already announced for the ship include The Clubhouse, a retro-inspired entertainment venue with bumper cars and roller skating, the Latin-themed Viva La Musica lounge and the returning Cliffhanger swing ride.
Coral Cove may not be the ship’s biggest thrill, but it could become one of its most popular everyday spaces. Between the indoor pool, family water attractions and adults-only retreat, MSC World Atlantic appears to have a pool option for nearly every kind of passenger.
