MSC World Asia to Feature Eataly Restaurant

MSC Cruises has confirmed that Eataly, the popular Italian restaurant brand, is coming to MSC World Asia when the ship begins sailing in December 2026.

The announcement, made on October 15, marks the second Eataly restaurant at sea, following the concept’s debut aboard MSC World America.

The new restaurant will feature traditional Italian cuisine, live cooking demonstrations, a dedicated chef’s table, and an outdoor dining terrace overlooking the ocean.

What Can Guests Expect From Eataly on MSC World Asia?

MSC says the new Eataly restaurant will combine contemporary design with classic Italian culinary traditions. The menu will focus on regional specialties and familiar Italian dishes prepared using carefully selected ingredients.

Beyond the food itself, MSC is incorporating several interactive elements into the restaurant.

  • Live cooking demonstrations where guests can watch Italian dishes being prepared.
  • A dedicated chef’s table offering a closer look at the cooking process.
  • An outdoor dining terrace with ocean views.
  • A wine experience allowing guests to visit the wine cellar at The Terraces Bar and select their own bottle.
  • A menu featuring regional Italian specialties and traditional favorites.

The chef’s table and ocean-view terrace are particularly interesting additions, giving the restaurant more to offer than a typical specialty dining experience.

MSC has not yet released the complete menu or specific pricing for Eataly aboard World Asia.

The Second Eataly Restaurant at Sea

Eataly first arrived at sea aboard MSC World America, which debuted in 2025. The partnership brought the internationally recognized Italian dining brand to a cruise ship for the first time.

On World America, Eataly offers freshly prepared pasta, ingredients sourced from Italian suppliers, and dishes inspired by Italy’s regional cuisines.

World Asia will now bring the concept to guests sailing in the Mediterranean, with its own restaurant design and additional experiences.

“Exceptional food and hospitality are at the heart of the experience we create for our guests.” — Gianni Onorato, CEO, MSC Cruises

The expansion is notable because Eataly was initially one of the signature dining additions introduced specifically for MSC World America.

Its arrival on World Asia suggests MSC sees the restaurant as a successful addition to its newest generation of ships rather than an experience exclusive to the North American market.

Is Eataly Included on MSC World Asia?

Eataly is a specialty dining restaurant rather than one of MSC’s complimentary dining venues, so guests should expect an additional charge.

MSC has not yet confirmed World Asia-specific menu prices or dining package eligibility in this announcement.

More Than 40 Dining and Drinking Venues on MSC World Asia

Eataly is the latest addition to a growing collection of dining and drinking experiences being introduced aboard MSC World Asia.

According to MSC Cruises, the ship will feature more than 40 restaurants, bars, lounges, and cafés when it enters service.

Other previously announced venues include the new Pan-Asian Street Food concept and the largest Venchi chocolate experience at sea.

The Pan-Asian venue will combine a specialty restaurant, bar and lounge, and complimentary grab-and-go options, while Venchi will feature a chocolate lab, gelateria, café, and chocolate-inspired cocktails.

MSC has also revealed five new bars and lounges, including the Clubhouse and Soda Bar and the Asian-inspired Pan Asian Bar.

Together, these additions help distinguish World Asia from its sister ships, MSC World Europa and MSC World America, even though all three share the same World Class design.

When Will MSC World Asia Begin Sailing?

MSC World Asia is scheduled to begin its inaugural Mediterranean cruise season on December 4, 2026.

The ship will offer seven-night itineraries visiting destinations including Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples, and Valletta, with multiple embarkation ports available.

With Eataly now confirmed, MSC continues to reveal additional details about the onboard experience ahead of the ship’s December debut.

For guests considering World Asia, the addition provides another dining option, particularly for travelers interested in authentic Italian cuisine while exploring the Mediterranean.
